Part of a group of 14 icons belonging to Henri Pharaon , products of the Melkite school , Arab Christians of the Byzantine rite , includes the painted panel of ‘hrist and the twelve apostles.’ The work is one of the most beautiful by the gifted artist Ne’meh al –Halabi , one of the greatest Melkite painters of the 17th to 18th centuries.
